Rest for the Tired and Wired
A Mindfulness Based Approach
Hello there!
Welcome to this course. I’m really glad you found us and are interested in exploring rest. I meet so many people who struggle and often the word “just” is put in front of it, or we feel really guilty to even stop and pause and nourish ourselves with rest.
You may have some questions and it is important to consider how to approach this little course:
firstly if this was a quick fix, you probably wouldn’t be here… so go gently, read and listen to each section, maybe journal and see what you notice turning up.
If something doesnt feel right or is uncomfortable, then leave it maybe just for a while. Maybe consider talking to someone about it.
Mainly, please know it is not possible to be “wrong” in this, as a mindfulness based approach is exploratory, compassionate, gentle and non-judgemental. It is a different way to learn as the approach is experienced and explored rather than achieved. And sometimes we all need some help and support to explore this further.
Rest and sleep are amongst my favourite things to think, read and write about and I’m enjoying the opportunity to share this. I hope you find it interesting and do get in touch to let me know how you got on!
As part of the course I will send a few emails that offer some more ways to implement some of the things we will reflect on as well as another audio track for you. Do reply to the emails if you have any questions, comments or feedback. Please check spam, junk, promotion in boxes as they can get lost! or email me info@mindfulnessforfatigue.org if they have got lost!
love
Fiona
Introduction
Being able to rest, stop, pause can be elusive and difficult to achieve when you live with a fatiguing health condition. Fatigue can lead you to mainly feel wired, anxious and exhausted. Mindfulness may be suggested by other people too, but it can also feel difficult as who wants to be aware of anxious racing thoughts, painful body? Additionally, thinking clearly can be effortful and thwarted by brain fog which makes the whole rest thing even harder.
This short course offers an opportunity to reflect on rest reflection and some things to try
Rest - a short course
here we go then! There are 3 lessons for you to go through, take as long as you like on each one, when you log back in you will go to where you left off. Give yourself time to ponder and experiment.
